kdum8Apr 22, 02:03 AMAm I correct in thinking that under OS X a kilobyte is 10^3 bytes? (The name kibibyte now referring to 2^10 bytes).

See attached image showing the info tab for a text file I have.

How can the file be 4 KB on disk and yet only 1,042 bytes of information? That seems like quite a discrepancy. Why does the text consume only 1,042 bytes of ascii information and yet take 4KB to store this to disk? What am I missing?

But a Mac Pro running Windows via Bootcamp, different story.

To my knowledge, the card carries a PC Bios as well as the Mac EFI, it should work fine in a PC.

There are some Mac Pro GPU's that wont work in a PC, I believe one of them is 1900XT. Instead of carrying a PC Bios on the GPU firmware chip, it's located in the Mac Pro Firmware Chip and loaded when user boots Windows via boot camp.

markw10Apr 28, 02:05 PMI just had to get a Motorola Xoom Android Device for my work and I'm used to using my iPad through MobileMe so with my iPad everything is nicely synced with my desktop apps on my Mac.
The problem is Google's device doesn't work that way. I can set my me.com email up on the Xoom's email program but the issue is the Xoom has a widget for the Google Address Book and Google Calendar.
I don't use the above Google App's but is there a way to sync them with the Apple apps, Google Address Book-Mac OS X Address Book and Google Calendar-iCal?
What I mean is for example if I pull up Google Calendar on my Xoom I'd like to be able to see all the calendar items that's on my iPad but I'd like to be able to add/delete an item and then see the same on my Xoom and I'd like to be able to add/delete an item on my Xoom and see the same on my iPad.
I'd like to be able to do the above also for Google Address Book. Is there any way to do something like this?

After jail broke 4.3.1 (Redsn0w) and installed Cydia and among other apps.

I used to have audio (keyboard,games,alert, etc). But something went wrong yesterday, after I installed a bunch of apps.

When playing movies, I have audio and could control the volume up and down.
HOWEVER, when playing games like Angry Birds, Ninja fruits and other games. The notification alert sound is now silence as well. I have no sound and can't control the up and down volume button.

Could someone please explain what happened here?

Not enough info to explain....

My best guess is you installed a theme yesterday, by winter board thathas overwritten your sounds....

Option explore sounds in the settings apps, and see if you can reset it there,
Uninstall themes and seen if you regain your sounds...
Do a restore to regain your sounds if all else fails...

Are these movies on your computer? I noticed RemoteVideoDecoder_Invalidate: Lost connection with decode service!, are you trying to view these from another site? Perhaps a network problem?

Geoff.Apr 29, 06:49 AMI opted for another replacement. This time using the Express replacement.

The guy on the phone was useless, he told me that i should "go into sounds and turn it down" i was like "how do you that" he then replied "Erm i dont know. Please hold"

Then he wanted me to go to Belfast in Northern Ireland to get it checked yet I'm from the republic. Then he wanted me to bring it to my phone carrier which i refused.

Finally he went to his "Super Advisor" who said the phone can be replaced.

I know it seemed a bit nit-picky but the vibration is way too loud. You can hear it in my pocket way louder than a ringtone.

Shouldn't be an issue whatsoever. Just use DVI or HDMI. I would skip VGA.
