First off, I have both a Quadra 610 and Powermac 6100 (they use the same form factor case). I've replaced the PRAM battery in both with an equivalent Radio Shack battery and had no trouble....due to the age of the machine, logic board trouble is a good possibility.
Try swapping out RAM, and make sure that the RAM is properly seated.
It might be a good idea to do a clean install, since you mention that booting without extensions didn't solve the problem...that probably rules out an extensions conflict. Install only the extensions you need to reduce the possibilities of a conflict.
You could always try a different PRAM battery...if a clean install doesn't help you may be looking at a logic board problem , though I'm far from an expert.

I recommend the usual; see if theres anything hogging the CPU (as MadJew said), restart to get the computer running fresh again, or repair permissions.
Is the RAM from Apple? I dont know much about RAM but i do know that the wrong type is not good.

I am the original owner and I still have the box, box it was shipped to me in from Apple, unused dock, unused earbuds, unused original case, unused remote, Vaja Case, FireWire Cable and unused discs/manuals. I will include the iPod charger if I get enough for the iPod. I may be able to find the original receipt if that is a "big" deal for the buyer. It's in perfect working condition just a little louder than when I first bought it. Also, the back of the iPod is engraved with my name and phone number as well as has some scratches on the back from the Vaja Case. That being said, I barely used this iPod outside of the house and I would classify it in B-B+ condition. I will be sure to post some pictures if there is some interest. Regards, mBurns
EDIT: Thought I'd add what is prompting me to sell is the little use I'm getting from the iPod after having an iPhone.
I'm hoping to get ~$150 OBO for the iPod. I realize that is high but due to the unused condition of the accessories and outside shipping box, the price is warranted.

That app will allow you to copy all songs off your iPod onto your new machine. Once the music is on your new machine you can add it to iTunes. Then sync your iPod to the new machine. iTunes will prompt you to erase the iPod, go for it, because all the music is already on the machine. You can new music as well.

My wifes 3GS is having an issue with signal. It keps losing signal for no reason. Im on the same network and have no issues.
I search for available carriers and none are found. Then all of a sudden the signal will return and be normal.
A 'Genius' looked at it and said the phone needs replacing. Didn't try and diagnose the issue. Phones out of warranty so it's �140 for the pleasure. Don't really want to do that as we're not far off the upgrade date of the contract.
Any ideas? I would have thought if it was hardware it would be out all the time?
