You should check out VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html). It plays pretty much any video format you can imagine (including WMV).

Do I really want every instance where I corrected a misspelling, replaced an adjective with a better one, or moved a few words around, on record?
Even in PRSI I don't really see the point. People there have fast eyes and long memories, so it really isn't likely you can get away with deleting your words and then denying you ever said them, unless you really did it immediately. And that, I think, can be forgiven. We've all written something a little rash and then immediately changed or deleted it.

I have the SB-700 flash and was wondering if it would be possible to use my flash on his body (I think it's a T2i)? I know most of the advanced Nikon-specific features won't work, but can you use the flash in manual mode on a Canon body? Or are all the connectors for the different brands different and incompatible?

Your G5, as stated, pretty much maxes out at 10.5.8. You can try running a Linux distro on it, if you really need to, once Leopard's support completely ends. Leopard is still rather usable for most things, though, so keep that G5 around! After all, people still use Tiger after its official support has completely ended
If you absolutely need Snow Leopard, though, I'd advise looking at some older used Intel machines. Just make sure it's at least a Core 2 machine - the Core series is officially being dropped from Lion. (though I'm sure something like XPostFacto will surface for it...)

Mitroff85Mar 31, 12:56 AMyeah 8gb is kinda overkill for most tasks but with video editing and photo editing programs it really shines! The biggest improvement in speed was the 7200 rpm HDD. The thing boots in 20-30 seconds depending what you have starting up with the boot. Parallels also loves the 8gb of ram to run windows 7 and mac OS side by side. it's a great laptop but I needed a windows machine for work and have no reason to keep this.

Yep all done with my mate iMovie
filming was easy 35 sec of wobbling around in the dark , editing in iMovie was a pain as it will not pick up my widescreen settings - so had to import as 4:3 and add the ghosting effect then exported to another project with the iPod advert in with the music and end bit in
chucked in some more effect - fast/slow reverse ect...
and export to iPod and done:D
i do not expect to win anything with this entry , but this is just a taster for me to do better

Mr. RetrofireApr 14, 09:57 PMI plan on running Windows via VMWare or Parallels on my MBP and I heard that Windows 7 requires more CPU to virtualize, I am just wondering if it's true, and if so, is it significant?
I will be running the virtualization probably constantly so I want to avoid anything that might slow down OSX. I hear 7 is the best choice for Boot Camp though, so I'm torn.
Any insight would be appreciated :)
Use XP SP3, if possible, because it runs fine with just 512 MB RAM! W7 requires at least 1 GB RAM, and runs fine with 2 GB RAM. The CPU-usage is low, in both cases: 5-15 percent on a 2.8 GHz Core2Duo, if you work just within the Windows Explorer, and < 5 percent if you do nothing within the Windows VM. VMware has optimized the VMware Tools (a collection of "invisible" drivers within the VM) for Windows, so Windows machines require only small amounts of CPU power.

Windows installed just fine, I followed the instructions Apple provided in a PDF, and I downloaded the drivers from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl995. However, with Windows installed my Magic Mouse does not work. Currently I am using a Dell USB mouse. Both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad show up in the Bluetooth devices list, which means I must have done something right, and my wireless keyboard that came with my iMac is working just fine. Anyone have any solutions?

First of all I want to let everyone know that I'm not very familiar with OS X so please bare with me.
I just got a Powerbook G4 15 1GHZ :D , this is my first apple notebook, last year I got the iMac as soon as they came out, and I have been using it for home use (office, internet browsing, cd burning, etc)
At home I have DSL connection shared through a Windows XP and a Wireless network.
I was able to set up the airport network and everything worked ok from home, file sharing, computer browsing, internet browsing.
I took the computer to work where I am going to use the built ethernet, I gave the computer a fixed ip address, configured the DNS, the router but here is where my problems start, with the configuration I set up (basically the same as my home configuration) I am able to browse the network (windows domain computers), I am able to use MSN messenger (so I know I have internet access), I can ping any web addres (example, if I ping www.fark.com , I get the name resolved and get response from the server) but I cannot get the pages to load in safari, or internet explorer.
Anyone out there have an idea?:confused:

I was thinking of doing that to get the 'hidden' gestures through x-code in 4.3 when the jail break is available.
Or is there cydia software that will do all the gestures?
One can edit a few plist, and enable gestures on an iPad running 4.3... By the way almost all how to, on this are way off... It took me a bit to find out how to do this...

I've had my website/porfolio (http://www.cookingwithatreus.com) up and running for a while and am now wanting to put some of my short films on there. I have the webspace so why not?! My problem is I don't know how.
I want to click a button on the website and have a new window pop out. On the left would be the list of available clips (as flash buttons), on the right would be "theatre" where the videos play. My problem is... how do I do it? What is this called? I've tried googling it up but seeing as I don't know what it's called, I'm rather confused. A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the basic question, I've been using Flash for a while and like it. It's when moving outside of Flash that I get very lost.

Then you can use a NSFileManager method to either create an array of filenames from your subdirectory (by appending the folder name to the resource path as a path component) or create a directory enumerator. If you image folder has subfolders itself, you would use the directory enumerator to go through them easily, filtering out the folder names as you go.
As far as it being "manual", you only have to do it once.
