jayeskreezyMar 25, 12:31 PMI'm thinking about selling a new unlocked refurb Iphone still in box (taken out to unlock). What would it go for on MR? Is $375 too much? Is craigslist a better option?

Is TinkerTool even made for this?
If you meant this (http://www.macworld.com/article/42469/2005/01/2waystreet.html) trick, then there is no need for TinkerTool, as you can enable "show hidden files" via Terminal, but that would only work with an iPod usable as disk drive, and the iPod touch does not have that feature, thus exPod (linked above) is enough.

Amnesiac1May 5, 06:58 PMMacs start region free but lock to the first region you use.

You can, however, change it up to five times.

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=DVDPlayer/5.2/en/7016.html

Well, I have two Region 2 DVDs I want to watch so I suppose that'll do...

I haven't heard back officially that anything has been solved, but the .Mac tech support has been great about tracking these things down (lots of sites affected).

Glad things are getting sorted out, but I'm still going to wait a bit before trying to switch my MR email back...;)

    Hey Rower...

They contacted me. You should try it again. :)

ahankinsonMar 7, 08:19 AMYour Mac will automatically discover shared devices on your network and make them available to you in the sidebar, regardless of if you're sharing yourself. I assume that's what you mean by "someone else's desktop" being "there."

As for running slow, open up Activity Viewer and see if there is something that's eating up a lot of your computer's resources.

ZilogZ80Mar 24, 06:48 AMMoving across iTunes was far harder. Reformatting one 1TB Hard Drive to be used on the Mac then copying across 200GB of data from an NTFS drive to the new one.
    ...
(it's ok, I really want to go through and 3 star EVERY SINGLE Angry Birds level all over again. Grrrr).
Someone posted this link in another thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/firstworldproblems/

CalvinatirJun 11, 01:34 PMIt's me again...and the bounty is back!! You may remember my last WTB thread for the Macbook Air that had a good size bounty on it.

Well, I'm offering a bounty again for the 3G iPhone (I know that even if I do get it, it may not work correctly until the 11th of July and AT&T releases the plans). I don't care, I just need/want it ASAP. If you can get one in your hands within the next 3 weeks please let me know and we'll arrange something beneficial for both of us.

Please do not post or flame if you are just stating the obvious (that it probably wont work even if I get it early); I'm just making a valid monetary offer for ANYONE who can get this phone in their hands.

    Thank you!

RHattonApr 1, 05:19 PMJust a general question but has anyone tested this yet? I know it supposedly works just fine but I was wondering how well the gestures that ARE in the previous trackpads work. For example, using launchpad can you scroll to other pages of apps using two finger scroll? Also what about full screen apps? Can you scroll between apps like a multi-touch trackpad. Thanks in advance.

smashApr 19, 04:02 PMI have an original, base model launch 2006 Mac Pro, which I've upgraded everything except the Video card for.

I've seen so many threads and things for sale, but I'm losing track of what is compatible with my machine since everyone else is on a 2008+ model. Can someone recommend a card that will handle modern Steam games (aka. Portal 2) at 1920x1200?

P.S. I'd prefer to not flash anything (as I don't have Bootcamp available, unless I could do it from a USB Drive) and I don't want to lose my Bootscreen.

Great points. Sorry, should've mentioned that yes, I'll have cable set top boxes in all rooms too. Good tip on the Apple TV for the other rooms, don't know why I didn't think of that. Will be much less expensive!

CybernangaFeb 2, 08:09 PMIf you are in the Finder, the "cut" option is disabled so because otherwise if you actually selected "cut", whatever file or application was selected would be removed from the window/desktop, and placed in the clipboard. That wouldn't be a good idea, as if you then cut or copied something else, the first item would be deleted for good.

However, if the selection in the Finder is the text of the name of a file or application, then you can "cut", as that's just affecting the name and not the actual file.

I hope I've been clear enough.

I guess Apple decided that allowing people to "cut" files and application's would be too risky. I tend to agree with them, if you want to trash something, there are better ways.

iceterminalMay 5, 01:47 PMThe easiest way is to copy them over via something like a USB memory stick, CD/DVD, etc. Then merely import them into her library.

However, if you're able to I would suggest doing this.
Copy ALL of your music, videos, etc. over to your wife's Mac.
Set up a "shared" drive or folder with the Mac as the server. Then 'share' the iTunes folder.

Now on your PC, connect to her shared folder. It will most likely come up as a "drive". Once you do that, make sure you map it as a drive letter for Windows. Then hold down the SHIFT key and double click iTunes. Click "Choose Library" and then point it to the new drive letter.

After this, you will both always share the same library. So if she adds something you'll see it automatically. And the same goes for you.

bencnordenApr 13, 06:01 AMOkay I'm using the Lion Developers preview, all legit. When I try and open applications that I've moved from the Snow Leopard partition to Lion I just get a error telling me that the app could not be opened as it is not compatible. This happens with Apple products such as iWork and iLife, but some third party apps still work! Obviously this is not surprising and will doubtless be fixed, but will the whole OS be updated to be able to run these apps or will we have to upgrade applications separately in order to be able to run them :)
    Cheers x
