My name's Ciar�n, I'm a 3rd year medic at Peninsula Medical School own in the south west of the UK. In our 4th year we do a project on "Doctors as Teachers" and it requires creating a teaching aid of some kind, then writing it up.

I'm looking for a someone adept at iOS programming that might want to collaborate with me on this project, so that it might benefit both of our careers!

I'm looking to create an iPad app teaching medical students/doctors how to identify various tropical diseases via. microscopy. eg. a medical student on an elective somewhere is working in a small clinic, patients comes in with a fever, he/she takes a quick blood sample, chucks it on a slide and pops it under the microscope and can compare what they see to reference images/videos/descriptions on the app. Below would be an example of a particular subtype of malaria (the difference can be quite subtle so some kind of reference and description about what you're looking for is incredibly useful)

The idea would be I would source all the content, write all the entries (which will be referenced to journal articles an whatnot) and you would design an application to present this information.

Sorry for the long post, but that's the idea in a nutshell! If anyone is interested please get in touch! There's no rush on this, I'm looking at a timescale of up to 12 months to finish it!

discounteggrollMay 5, 07:33 AMyou're restoring to an earlier OS, thus the issue you are describing. Go spend $30 for 10.6 at an apple store, upgrade to the latest OS revision (currently 10.6.7) and then do the time machine restore. You will again get a kernel panic if you keep using the original macbook restore DVD (it will either have tiger or leopard on it, neither will work if you previously had SL)

on the other hand, if you have an enclosure for your old hard drive (the smaller 120GB one) you could simply do a clone to the larger one using carbon copy cloner.

IntellApr 16, 11:55 AMI DL'd "iPhone3,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle" and put it in the Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ directory in the Pwnage Tool package.

I DL'd the file "iPod3,1_4.3.2_8H7_Restore.ipsw" and placed on my desktop, but Pwnage Tool keeps giving the "Wrong firmware bundle selected" error.




The problem is bolded above.

mdgmMar 9, 06:41 AMWell only the Apple keyboards have the Command key (has Apple symbol on it). However you can use a keyboard designed for Windows. I use Logitech wireless keyboards and mouse. You can get these far cheaper than the Apple products.

I think if needed and not automatically installed by Windows when the Magic Mouse is connected, the drivers for the Magic Mouse would be part of the Boot Camp drivers you need to install.

What I'm looking for is a simple development platform that will help me to simply develop the project and use it on as a web application, iphone and android app, and ideally to have a desktop version for pc and mac. File storage would be through Amazon.

I'm willing to tackle a project but I think its best to start with the right tools. Any tips?

I think it's best if you explain where you're coming from, so we have a context for deciding what the right tools might be.

1. Describe your skills and resources, such as what programming languages you know, what kind of programs you've written, what computer you intend to develop on, etc.

2. Describe exactly what you mean by "a simple development platform".
The simplest development platform would probably be the 'make' command and a capable text editor. If you don't know what 'make' is, then that's probably not viable, hence the need for us to know what you mean by "simple".

jekay06Jan 1, 12:43 PMMy IPod touch 3g is only 4 months old but I get about an hours use before the the 20% battery life come up. I brought it back to Apple and everything checks out. I love the unit but the battery life sucks. I have gone on line and checked out how to get better batery life, but If I did what it says to do, it would be useless.

You could have another list with If you like this song, then these songs recommended on songs that others recommended first and that you recommended later.

That way I could access others' recs for songs I like easier!

To resize to fit the content go to the View menu and select either "Automatically Resize or Actual Size" then click on the Green button.
