There are 44 I-485 adjudicators at NSC (an NSC IIO mentioned that to me a few months ago) at the conservative rate of 6 apps/visa numbers (EB only) per adjudicator per day it will be 264 visa numbers per day just at NSC.

Double that and you reach 528 per day at NSC + TSC only.
Not including district office and consular numbers.

Say 600 EB approvals per day * 21 working days of August would make it 12600 EB approvals in August.

If ones multiplies that number for 12 months we reach 151,200 EB visas...which is so close to the number that was approved last year ! (Includes numbers from FB overflow)

1% to 5% of I485 applicants register in . This figure 1% to 5% is quoted at several places and in absence of any other data, I am using this data. If we take median value of 3% worldwide EB2 approvals are around 50 and so TSC+NSC approved 1600 cases in four working days of August (400 per day).

Median value is OK for reference, couple of places, it is quoted that 20,000 GC numbers are available for EB2. For 40 working days in Aug/Sep, it averages to 500 GC per day.

http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/ has a map over which books makes sense to start with. The first two in the series ("The Colour of Magic" and "The Light Fantastic") might be a tad compact at first read (maybe just me, but I've had friends tell me this as well, so...).

I originally wanted to play the computer game, but felt I had to read the books first... I never got around to actually playing the games though. (I tried "Discworld Noir" for a while, but some of its bugs seriously interfered with the gameplay)

"Mort" I believe contains the reference to "Duck Man"...

I think you can file an FOIA (freedom of information act) form to get copy of your 140 approval from USCIS. The only problem is that it will take some time to do that.

However, do it in any case. You will need that 140 approval later on, even for filing H1 transfer after your intial 6 years are gone.

Guys and gals: Please use all tactics possible and all negotiating powers possible to get copies of approvals from your employers for your file. Whether its 140 or H1, you should have copies of them. The copies are not employer's properties. The petitions are. A photocopy is a piece of paper that says something. If you have photocopy, doesnt mean you own that H1 or 140. Dont fall for this bullshit that "H1 and 140 are properties of the employer so we cant give it to you". BULLSHIT. If someone has a photocopy of the title of my car, does it mean that he owns that car?? NO. I still own it. Anyone can have a photocopy of it. In fact, DMV does have a copy of it. HAVING XEROX COPIES DONT IMPLY TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OR OWNERSHIP OF PETITIONS.

PLEASE FIGHT THIS BULLSHIT AND TRY TO GET OUT OF THE MESS.

There is a provision in CIR that's pending that makes it mandatory for employers to share all immigration paperwork photocopies with employees. That proves that ITS COMMON SENSE that it should be done if its not already done by some crooked employers.

Infy, TCS and Wippro are no different than other desi bodyshops. Its the difference between a nice hair cutting saloon and a road side one. Infy, TCS are nice hair cutting saloon.

Its not a question about feeling the pinch. Its about the validity of credentials. Most of underskilled people get undue advantage by working at these bodyshops.
You can not simply say that Infy,TCS/Wipro are nice. Through body shoppers you have an oppertunity to earn more. Through Infy,TCS/Wipro, you would get designation.

If I have to resubmit, I will use USPS to the PO.Box My attorney uses Fedex and we get receipts on time.
I would recommend to use Fedex instead of UPS.

I strongly feel that AILA and their associates are pretty good at predicting the policy changes within USCIS / DOL. In my observation, such statements by leading immigration Attorneys have resulted in near future procedural / policy changes. I consider this as an hint to all GC seekers to brace for I140 PP across the board, not just for people on the H1B brink.

Does anyone feel the same? any thoughts?

jeff, you can shoot the scene in raw and "develop" several images at the exposure that you want (0, +1, -1, etc) in your raw converter. that way you can guarantee that they'll line up. PS also has a pin register feature that will snap the images into place as you create the layers. combine those two methods and it's really fast. i use that often for action shots where there is no opportunity for in camera bracketing. good luck. later, kevin

rpat196807-15 08:13 PMAfter contacting USCIS through Ombudsman & Senaor John Cornyn office I finally got email from Uscis telling me that I am in EB3 and they mistakenly sent me EB2 approval. After this they sent me an amended EB3 approval. Also the immigration officer who worked on my case called me an explained me what exactly happened.
He said that my attorney sent an letter with mi 140 approval saying that if they cannot approve me in EB2 they can consider me In EB3. Which is exactly what they did.but since the application had EB2 their contractor who generates the approval generated an EB2 approval. In Uscis system I was in EB3 and all alone I was thinking that I was in EB2. So i got royally screwed. The only now per immigration officer is for me to restart the gc process from labour stage and recapture the July 2004 pd. I got so sick of this I just stopped worrying about this and currently on Ead. Bought a house and will wait and see how things go. May reapply for labour ....

arnet09-08 05:27 PMi think it should be ok because some apply with non-availability certificate instead of birth certificate since they cant get one. Usually it depends on the immigration officer who reviews your petition at that time and what decision he takes. disclaimer: But check with your immigration attroney as I'm nt an attroney.

if possible get one with first/last name, i think it is easier to show the existing one and get new one because existing one has parents details too. dont take chances in I-485, because if anyone get RFE (query) then it will delay your case atleast a month or two, because you have to resend one again.

How about birth certificate stating initial and First name (not first name and last name). Any sugestions?

It may be a common thing - swaying away from EB3 to Eb2 for earlier PD holders and there by choking up some EB2 space but shouldn't that cause loosening ( i'm not talking substantial ) in EB3 Priority Date ?

I mean EB3 India Priority Dates seems to have a Coma and that always hover around Aug/Oct 2001 - for last few years its like , it moves like some months and then scrolls down.
