Celebrating the good news here.

Question: Did anybody receive confirmation about their AOS applications being returned after filling in early July (Say on the 2nd or 3rd)? I know there have been rumors about a few returned applications but I haven't actually found anyone in such situation + my attorneys confirmed today that USCIS specifically instructed not to return/reject them.

I have recently recieved approval for I-140. With no surprise, employer denies to share the copy. I am planning to file FOIA to get the copy. Questions I have :

1. Can I file for FOIA even if my I-485 is not filed?
2. Reason to ask 1. is, Form G-639 requires Alien Registration Number (A#) which I believe, one can get only after filing I-485. Please correct me if I am wrong.
3. If I am right, Can I file FOIA without Alien#?

Unless it is an expired "conditional status" card, your legal status in the US in no way changes. Only the card expires and not your legal LPR status! I don't quite understand what your "mistake on birthday" comment is all about!

You are still a legal permanent resident and can apply for a job proving your eligibility with your Social Security card and valid drivers license/state ID.

Get a new card by filling out form I-90 with USCIS and pay the required fees.

Besides my lawyer. When I went to Info Pass they told me the same thing I can't file for the I485 untill the I130 is approved because I was in removal proceedings when we got married. Info pass also said that I130 in removal proceedings is handeled differenty. I don't have a work permit or social yet since i can't file for I485.

greener_pasture11-07 01:59 PMMy application was received on July 3 at NSC. Till now, I haven't received any notices. I got the RNs by calling USCIS.

Now, I placed an expedite order on my EAD on Friday. They sent me a mail saying my app was received on Oct 10 and not July 3 (yeah right! if it was oct 10, why would you even accept it?). So I faxed them the fedex delivery signature confirmation. Today I see a LUD on my EAD app but nothing else has changed.

Can anyone shed some light on what might possibly going on here? I can probably wait for some more time to find out for sure but I am curious. Guys with approved EAD - did you see a LUD on your app before it was approved?

Can be applied for extension when principal applicants H1B is being extended(from his company), but since I have my H1B case filed with USCIS, will it create any conflict if I apply for H4 extension now? (ideally for 7 days (23rd sept to 30th sept) !! 'coz if approved, H1B status becomes valid from Oct 1st, right? )

Also, is there any rule which states that, when a case is pending with USCIS, legally you are not supposed to leave the country?

Original employer filed I40 under "electrical engineer" :: SOC Code 17-2071 (approved)
have EAD but never used.
Inside the job description there are entitled strong software background - job duties included programming and software development also. As a requirement a 3year of Software Engineering experience was entitled also.

Situation: Laid off, but received a job offer letter. BUT the position is "software engineer" job code is some 15-XXXX.
Detailed job description/duties will be the same;

Old employer/layer is not revoking anything, willing to help.

Will this stand if they request an EVL or later on the road?
According to my research they not strict about the job codes they more go by the job description and duties.
I'm sure lots of folks are in the same situation, please advice.

An Ohio-born entrepreneur, now based in Switzerland, told Dow Jones he is considering turning in his U.S. passport. Mounting U.S. tax and reporting requirements are making potential business partners hesitate to do business with him, he said.
